Glen Dimplex Group acquires Technika, Australia
The Glen Dimplex Group is pleased to announce it has acquired Technika, a dedicated home appliance company based in Somerton, Melbourne. This acquisition combines Technika, and the numerous brands of the Technika Group, with the existing Glen Dimplex brands of Belling and New World, and significantly strengthens the Group’s position in the Australian market.
Founded in 1973, Glen Dimplex is a leading international Group, the world's leading manufacturer of electrical heating, and also holds significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling, ventilation, and renewable energy solutions. Glen Dimplex Australia is in its tenth year and Technika represents the second Australian acquisition for the Group in 2016 following on from the acquisition of Real Flame.
Founded in 1998 from humble beginnings, Technika has grown to be a highly successful and reliable privately owned Australian business, with customers spanning all related industry sectors Australia wide. Technika's dedication and commitment has ensured success through continued reinvestment in product design, innovation, reliability, service, and people.
Glen Dimplex Australia Managing Director, David Woodward, emphasized the importance of retaining the key people behind the brand and accordingly founders, Craig Hucker and Mark Galea will continue in their current roles and act as joint General Managers. “The continued involvement of both Craig and Mark was an integral part of the acquisition. Technika have a different business model to our existing business and there is invaluable knowledge and experience within the existing team that we wanted to retain and preserve. I am confident that all parties will be able to learn from each other and resulting best practice synergies will generate good growth into the future.”
