Glen Dimplex acquires Koolant Koolers

Effective 1 January 2006, The Glen Dimplex Group are proud to announce the acquisition of US Industrial Cooling Businesses, Koolant Koolers and Schreiber Engineering.

Koolant Koolers is a US manufacturer of standard, custom and O.E.M. industrial liquid chillers and has been designing and manufacturing chillers for over 50 years. The primary applications for which they supply chillers include the cooling of lasers, machine tool components (spindles, ball screws, linear motors, etc.), metalworking fluids, welding equipment, water jet equipment, hydraulics and medical equipment. However, their chillers are also used to condense vapor and cool fluids as diverse as battery acid and gasoline. Chillers can be built to meet UL 1995, CSA, JIC, NEMA, NFPA 79, CE or NRTL standards in addition to company specific machine tool specifications such as automotive.

Founded in 1973, Glen Dimplex is privately owned with sales revenue of $1.5 Billion and 8,500 employees. Glen Dimplex is the world’s largest electrical heating business, holding significant market positions in the domestic appliance industry worldwide.

Koolant Koolers will now work to service and support applications not only in North America, but also in Europe through a cooperative effort with their new sister company, Riedel Precision Cooling. Having extensive cooling application experience with automobile manufacturers and their suppliers, mechanical engineers and plastic processors, medical technology and the food industry –Riedel is internationally recognized as a specialist for liquid cooling and air conditioning and provides yet another level of support and capability to Koolant customers.
